Human resources managers are in charge of an organization’s most important resource: its employees. HR managers plan, direct, organize, and control the administrative functions of organizations. They are involved in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of new staff; developing compensation structures for employee groups; and strategic planning for the company’s staffing needs. The job outlook for HR managers is very high in the Scottsdale area, as there are currently not enough people to fill positions.
Managers with strong leadership skills are constantly in demand in all industries. Whether you manage a small office, a large department, or even run your own business, you will command a much higher salary than the people whom you lead. If you have strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, you have the potential of being a successful manager.
Organizational leadership and management skills are necessary to the success of organizations. The skills learned for organizational management may be transferable to any industry, including for-profit business, governmental organizations, and non-profit organizations. This program allows students with studies in areas outside of business to gain knowledge and skills in organizational management and leadership.
Retail managers are constantly needed in the dynamic and growing retail industry. While many people work as store associates, only the elite will become store managers who command higher salaries. Retail managers are in charge of the daily efficient and profitable operation of stores that sell specific lines of merchandise (such as food or clothing) or a wide variety of merchandise (such as department stores or discount stores). The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Retail Management provides training in selling, merchandising, buying, and management. This program is also endorsed by the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC).
